Granite is an igneous stone, meaning it is formed from magma. It has become one
of the most popular stones of late, due to its extremely durable nature. Granite
is available in an infinite number of colors and textures, but it generally has a
speckled appearance. It is usually available is honed, polished and brushed finishes
and it suitable for both interior and exterior use.
Granite Tile Products
We carry a number of granite tiles, generally in 12x12 or 18x26. Several colors are available
and in stock today such as Ubatuba, Santa Cecilia, Black Galaxy and more. Granite tiles have
become less popular as more home-owners are switching to slab counter tops.
Counter Top Materials
Granite is one our most popular choices for slab counter tops.
Stone Wood Design Center's custom counter top program is second to none in the Portland market.
Our granite slabs are sealed twice at the factory and then sealed again during installation.
We polish the underside of all overhangs - and our seams are book-matched and vacuum sealed for a perfect finish.
We charge only for the actual size needed.
Granite counter top materials are separated into four groups - Group A, B and C; and custom.
We have standardized pricing by the SF for Groups A through C. Our custom group is priced based on the
individual slab and includes some of the rarest and most exotic granite slabs available.
Tan Brown granite is one our Group A offerings. Beautiful and versatile.
Glacier White granite has a nice amount of movement and is one of our Group B offerings.
