Prefinished Hardwood Floors
Prefinished hardwood flooring is one of the most popular types of flooring in the Northwest.
Solid hardwood flooring is molded to a microbevel profile and then run through a UV-cured finishing line.
8 or more coats of finish are applied to create a long-lasting and durable surface. The middle layers
contain aluminum oxide which is extremely hard and provides most of the durability in the finish.
Aluminum oxide, factory finishes are considerably more durable than sanding and finishing on site.
This new finish technique has only become popular since the late 1990's as the technology was perfected.
And most of our prefinished flooring products feature at least a 25 year warranty for residential use.
The major benefit during installation is that you can avoid the mess of sanding and coating the product in your home.
Most floor finishes used in sand and finish on site have some degree of VOC emmissions, requiring the homeowner to vacate
the home while the finish cures over a period of a few days. Sanding dust is also a major issue when installing unfinished flooring.
Prefinished flooring is the best choice solid hardwood choice for remodeling projects because you can avoid the dust, avoid the
toxic finish, and you can use your new floor right away.
